Hello…
I’m AlisonWhitwood, I’m a Somatic-Based Therapist and Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach.
Inner Gold Vision
At Inner Gold, I offer one-to-one support for people who are dealing with ongoing health issues, stress, or life changes and are tired of trying to push themselves through it alone. This work is for people who sense that real change doesn’t come from forcing themselves to “do better,” but from feeling supported enough to slow down, listen, and make changes that actually fit their life.
I work with people who are thoughtful and self-aware, yet worn down by years of managing symptoms, stress, or patterns that keep repeating despite their best efforts. Many have lived with chronic illness, autoimmune conditions, long-term emotional strain, or early life experiences that taught them to stay strong, self-reliant, or pleasing in order to cope. Some are also navigating recovery from addiction, or from habits and coping strategies that once helped them survive but no longer work.
A central part of this work is recognising how closely physical health and emotional well-being are linked. When the body is under strain because of inflammation, food sensitivities, poor sleep, or ongoing stress, it can strongly affect mood, clarity, and resilience. At the same time, long-held emotional patterns and stress responses can place real pressure on the body. Many people feel stuck because only one side of this picture has been addressed.
My approach brings these pieces together. Alongside emotional and nervous system support, I also offer practical health coaching. For some people, this includes guidance with approaches such as the Autoimmune Protocol (AIP). Changes in eating habits can bring up strong feelings, especially when food has been a source of comfort, coping, or control. Emotions that have been soothed or held at bay by food often surface when those habits change, and part of the work is making space for that experience rather than pushing through it or treating it as a problem.
A bit about me
I’m not here to sell you a one-size-fits-all solution. And I’m not the kind of practitioner who hides behind a polished façade. I’ve lived through chronic illness, emotional collapse, deep searching, and more heartbreak than I care to count — and I’ve come out the other side not with perfection, but with perspective.
Alongside this lived experience, I’ve spent years training in the science, psychology, and body-based understanding of how real healing happens. I bring both together in my work — meeting you in the mess, without judgement, while offering skilled, professional support.
Who I work with
I work with people who feel overwhelmed by their health, their emotions, or the pressure to keep it all together.
You might be living with autoimmune issues, chronic fatigue, burnout, or a sense that your nervous system never truly rests. You may be doing “all the right things” and still not feeling like yourself. Often, what’s needed isn’t another protocol, but a different way of relating to your body, your food, and your emotional world.
Working together
Working together is a collaborative process. Our sessions are shaped around your needs, your consent, and what feels meaningful for you. You’re always free to ask questions, slow things down, pause, or change direction at any point.
The work we do may include emotional exploration, body-based awareness, and practical health guidance. It’s intended to support insight, regulation, and meaningful change, while respecting the limits of what this work can and can’t offer. Where it’s helpful, I may suggest involving other healthcare practitioners alongside our work, particularly for medical care or specialised support.
If you’re curious about working together, you’re welcome to book a session or reach out with a question. There’s no pressure and no expectation to have it all figured out before you begin.
