Frequently Asked Questions
-
What is Somatic Therapy and how does it help?
Somatic therapy is a body-based approach that helps you notice and work with how emotions and stress show up physically. It’s gentle and grounding, and can support nervous system regulation and emotional healing. Read more
-
What is Sandplay Therapy?
Sandplay is a creative, non-verbal process using sand trays and miniatures to explore feelings, experiences, and patterns that can be hard to put into words. It’s offered in-person only at my practice in Sydney’s Inner West.
-
What happens in a Discovery Call?
A Discovery Call is a free 20-minute chat to get to know each other, talk about what’s on your mind, and see if working together feels like a good fit. There’s no obligation — it’s simply a friendly first step.
-
Do you offer online sessions, and how do they work?
Yes — online sessions are held over a secure video platform, so you can join from the comfort of your home. Many people find this convenient and just as effective as meeting in person.
-
What is your approach?
I work in a person-centred, non-judgemental way, blending somatic therapy, Sandplay (in person), and talk therapy. It’s a mix of mind, body, and soul — supporting you to explore what matters, ease stress, and create space for healing.
-
What qualifications do you have?
I’m a National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC) and currently completing a Master of Counselling at Torrens University. I also have training in Somatic Therapy, Sandplay Therapy, NLP, and Transpersonal Psychotherapy.
-
How do I pay for sessions?
Payment is simple: I’ll send you an invoice after your session, which you can pay by bank transfer or card.
-
Can I get Medicare or health fund rebates for sessions?
In Australia, only Psychologists are able to offer Medicare rebates. If cost ever feels like a barrier, please reach out. I want my work to be accessible, and I’m open to discussing options where needed.
-
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
Life happens! You can reschedule up to 24 hours before your session. Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice may incur a fee.
-
Are online sessions as effective as meeting face-to-face?
Yes, research shows online sessions can be just as effective as in-person ones for many concerns, and some people even find it easier to open up online. Meeting face-to-face, however, offers a different kind of presence and connection. The best choice depends on what feels right for you. Read More
